A list of must-have accessories for your electric skateboard including protective gear, lights, travel cases, cleaning kits, etc.

If you already own an electric skateboard by Boosted, Evolve, Inboard, Lou Board, OneWheel, Acton, etc — there are plenty of accessories that you should consider buying, even before you buy the board itself.

1. Protective gear — Helmet and Wrist Guards

The most important accessory is the one that protects you when riding. Safety gear should be top of mind when riding an electric skateboard, so make sure to invest in it. You won’t regret it.

Torch Helmet — A helmet with integrated front/back LEDs

Looking for a helmet that not only protects your head, but also makes you more visible? While it might be a little expensive at $149 — it’s certainly functional and makes you more visible at night, while still looking sleek during the day.

Thousand Helmets — A helmet that looks good

These helmets are sleek and designed with more style, which is perfect if you’re worried about your head looking like a mushroom.

Pro-Tec City Lite — Skate Helmet with LED

We like this helmet for a couple reasons. It’s a has a plain and simple design, but also features a built in rear LED which helps people see you at night. This helmet also has an adjustment to tighten/loosen the fit in the back.

This is a favorite from the boosted subreddit, and for the price this is a must-have for your Boosted Board or other electric longboards such as Evolve, Inboard, etc. It fits both the Boosted Plus or the Mini S and Mini X.

Wall/Wood Mount J Hooks — $7 each on Amazon

These J Hooks fit the wheels of the Boosted Board and other electric skateboards perfectly. They are cheap and versatile, you could mount these directly on dry wall or build your own mount using wood.

Hubro Carry Case for Boosted Plus, Stealth— $75 on Amazon

The Hubro is a Fitted Travel Bag for Boosted Board Longboards (designed for Boosted Plus and Boosted Stealth, including v1, v2 boards). It has backpack straps with chest strap. Backpack straps can be stored away in dedicated pocket. You can also mount it Shoulder strap with metal hardware D-Rings and clips and it features padded webbing carry handles.

This bag is designed spefically for the Boosted Mini S and Mini X. Large exterior pockets integrated with Slimfit design. Center pocket with interior organization measures 10" x 10" x 3". Tail pocket will fit charging cord and brick. Sleek all black design with reflective strip

This backpack is more expensive at $148, but is very good quality and made specifically for boosted board and the Mini, it features backpack straps, shoulder strap, hand grip and comes with two large pockets which can store two extra Boosted Board battery packs, or any other accessory you might want to carry.

Nike SB RPM Backpack — For Boosted Mini S, Mini X — $90–100 on Amazon

We tested at least 4 Skate backpacks and found that most of them could not carry the weight on the Boosted Mini. The only one we found that worked was the Nike SB RPM Backpack since it has additional straps on the bottom to hold the board from slipping out. Removing the battery is also useful for travel.

Orion Telescope Case — Boosted Plus, Stealth, V2 on Amazon — $79

Even though this case is made for a telescope, turns out it can fit an electric longboard perfectly! You even have an extra pocket for your helmet, charger, and other accessories.

4. Board Protection & Accessories

Boosted Board Bash Guards — $30 at Flatland 3D
These are a must buy, so you can stand the board up without damaging the nose and tail. And if you bump into a curb, the board will be protected and the bash guards will take the damage instead. If you own a boosted or will own a boosted, get these.

SurfCo Nose and Tail Guards for Boosted Mini S, Mini X— $23 at Flatland 3D

Our Mini got a bunch of dings and scratches on the tail and nose after a few weeks of use. These tail guards by SurfCo fit perfectly on both the nose and the tail of the board. You can get a dual pack for $23 bucks at Flatland3D

Motor Guards for Evolve GT, Bamboo, ONE — $19–36 at Flatland 3D
These are another must buy for any Evolve owner. These 3D printed motor covers allow you to rest your board standing up without damaging your motors!

Wheel Upgrades

85mm Orangatang Caguama — $68 on Amazon

One of the most popular upgrades, these wheels are 5mm larger than the stock wheels, and they fit on the Boosted Plus, Stealth, Mini S and Mini X. Upgrading to these wheels will give you +2mph higher top speed and asbord more shock from cracks and bumps.

5. Headlights & Tail Lights

ShredLights for Boosted Board — For Boosted Plus, Stealth, Mini S and Mini X — $39 from ShredLights
Shredlights are the best lights for Boosted boards, and they fit nicely on the sides of the front truck. They also sell a tail light kit for the rear lights, you can get a combo pack for both front & rear lights.

Serfas Rechargeable Front/Tail Light for Evolve Boards — $45 on Amazon
Popular amongst Evolve riders, these lights by Serfas are normally made for bikes — but they fit perfectly on the front and rear trucks of Evolve boards, making them to perfect front/tail light combo.

6. Bearing Upgrades & Cleaners

Ceramic Bearing Upgrade Service Kit — Boosted Plus, Stealth, Mini S & Mini X by ACER Racing — $49.99

If your bearings are getting older, or if water has gotten inside of them started to make loud noises, you should consider replacing and upgrading the bearings. This 10 piece Ceramic Bearing kit will replace all 10 bearings in your Boosted Board, both options available on Amazon.

Bones Swiss Skate Speed Cream + Cleaning Unit Kit — $20 on Amazon
This is a useful kit to help clean your bearing and keep them spinning nice.

Bones Bearing Press / Puller — $13 on Amazon

This tool makes it quick and easy to remove the bearings from your wheels. It will save you a lot of time and hassle, and less risk of damaging them while trying to remove the bearings.

Grip Tape Cleaner — $9.99
If your grip tape is getting dirty, grip gum is an easy way to clean it. It’s basically sanding belt cleaner which you can also find at a local Home Depot for even cheaper.

7. Other Useful Tools

Multi skate tool for Electric Boards — $15 at Flatland3D
When trying to tighten the truck bolts or removing them to install bash guards, you will find most other tools won’t be able to fit between the motors in the back. This custom designed tool by Flatland is compact and made specifically to fit!

Black & Decker Electric Screwdriver — $9.99 on Amazon
An electric screwdriver is really useful for quick battery swaps on the boosted v2, making the 6 screws a breeze!
